Peter Hurley, one of the most successful and well known headshot photographers of all time has teamed up with Fstoppers to produce a 4 hour tutorial exposing all of his tips and tricks that he has learned over the past 8 years as a professional photographer. This video touches on all aspects of running a successful photography business but Peter's main goal is to teach the average person about the subtleties of the human face so that you can make any human in front of your camera look interesting.
Peter Hurley spent the early part of his life traveling the world as a professional male model. During that time Peter was photographed by some of the top fashion photographers in the world. As a model Peter was forced to understand the subtle movements of his own face but he was also able to learn the technical side of photography from some of the best in the world. Peter moved to New York city and saw a nitch in the market that he thought he could fill. "I thought that if I could shoot actors headshots like commercial photographers shot celebrities I could be successful." Over the past 8 years Peter has become what many argue is the top headshot photographer in the world.
In this 4 hour tutorial Peter reveals everything that he uses to produce not just technically sound but "interesting" images day in and day out. Although this video does touch on a number of topics, this tutorials main focus is on coaching those in front of your camera into producing the best possible images. This video is suggested for those who are already professional photographers who want to take their portraits to the next level.

Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong [Audiobook]
20 August 2014, 10:17
2014 | MP3@64 kbps + EPUB | 11 hrs 31 mins | 316.94MB
The definitive account of Lance Armstrong's spectacular rise and fall.
In June 2013, when Lance Armstrong fled his palatial home in Texas, downsizing in the face of multimillion-dollar lawsuits, Juliet Macur was there—talking to his girlfriend and children and listening to Armstrong's version of the truth. She was one of the few media members aside from Oprah Winfrey to be granted extended one-on-one access to the most famous pariah in sports.
At the center of Cycle of Lies is Armstrong himself, revealed through face-to-face interviews.
But this unfolding narrative is given depth and breadth by the firsthand accounts of more than one hundred witnesses, including family members whom Armstrong had long since turned his back on—the adoptive father who gave him the Armstrong name, a grandmother, an aunt. Perhaps most damning of all is the taped testimony of the late J.T. Neal, the most influential of Armstrong's many father figures, recorded in the final years of Neal's life as he lost his battle with cancer just as Armstrong gained fame for surviving the disease.
In the end, it was Armstrong's former friends, those who had once occupied the precious space of his inner circle, who betrayed him. They were the ones who dealt Armstrong his fatal blow by breaking the code of silence that shielded the public from the grim truth about the sport of cycling—and the grim truth about its golden boy, Armstrong.
Threading together the vivid and disparate voices of those with intimate knowledge of the private and public Armstrong, Macur weaves a comprehensive and unforgettably rich tapestry of one man's astonishing rise to global fame and fortune and his devastating fall from grace.
A Well-Paid Slave [EPUB]
20 August 2014, 10:08
2007 | EPUB | 0.6MB
After the 1969 baseball season, the St. Louis Cardinals traded their star centerfielder Curt Flood to the Philadelphia Phillies, setting off a chain of events that would change professional sports forever. At the time, there was no such thing as free agency. Baseball players were bound to their teams for life by a paragraph in the standard player contract known as the reserve clause. As a result, players could not receive fair market value for their services. More importantly, players had no control over where or for whom they played. When a player was traded, he had two choices: report to his new team or retire. Curt Flood chose door number three: he sued Major League Baseball for his professional freedom.
Flood was not a typical ballplayer. Artistic, well-read, fiercely intelligent, and politically active, Flood was strongly influenced by the example of Jackie Robinson, who personally recruited Flood into the civil rights movement. After twelve years with the Cardinals, Flood's roots had grown deep into the St. Louis soil. A three-time All-Star and seven-time Gold Glove winner, Flood had become an integral member of the Cardinals' 1960s World Series teams that also featured Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Orlando Cepeda and Tim McCarver. He also had established a photography and portrait-painting business in St. Louis, which he stood to lose by moving to Philadelphia. Unlike countless others before him, Flood refused to have his life uprooted against his wishes and was willing to sacrifice his baseball career so that no future player would have to endure a similar indignity.
A Well-Paid Slave provides the first in-depth look at Flood's lawsuit and its impact on both professional sports and the man who had the courage to see it through to the highest court in the land. Flood's suit would prove to be a crucial event in the history of professional sports, affording Flood a historical status often compared to that of Robinson, but it remains both underappreciated and misunderstood. With A Well-Paid Slave, Brad Snyder sets the record straight, connecting the dots between Flood's suit and the arrival of free agency while providing insights into the political mechanisms of both Major League Baseball and the federal judicial system, and the heart and mind of Curt Flood himself. A true pioneer, Flood is owed an enormous debt by today's multi-million-dollar athletes who, unlike Flood, can now choose where and for whom they play.
The Way Forward: Renewing the American Idea [Audiobook]
20 August 2014, 09:59
2014 | MP3@64 kbps | 9 hrs 28 mins | 260.83MB
THE WAY FORWARD challenges conventional thinking, outlines his political vision for 2014 and beyond, and shows how essential conservatism is for the future of our nation.
Beginning with a careful analysis of the 2012 election--including a look at the challenge the GOP had in reaching a majority of voters and the prevalence of identity politics--Ryan examines the state of the Republican party and dissects its challenges going forward.
THE WAY FORWARD also offers a detailed critique of not only President Obama but of the progressive movement as a whole--its genesis, its underlying beliefs and philosophies, and how its policies are steering the country to certain ruin.
Culminating in a plan for the future, THE WAY FORWARD argues that the Republican Party is and must remain a conservative party, emphasizing conservatism in a way that demonstrates how it can modernize and appeal to both our deepest concerns and highest ideals.
Gandhi in His Time and Ours [EPUB]
20 August 2014, 09:46
2013 | EPUB | 1017.83KB
Gandhi was the creator of a radical style of politics that has proved effective in fighting insidious social divisions within India and elsewhere in the world. How did this new form of politics come about? David Hardiman shows that it was based on a larger vision of an alternative society, one that emphasized mutual respect, resistance to exploitation, nonviolence, and ecological harmony.
Politics was just one of the many directions in which Gandhi sought to activate this peculiarly personal vision, and its practice involved experiments in relation to his opponents. From representatives of the British Raj to Indian advocates of violent resistance, from right-wing religious leaders to upholders of caste privilege, Gandhi confronted entrenched groups and their even more entrenched ideologies with a deceptively simple ethic of resistance. Hardiman examines Gandhi's ways of conducting his conflicts with all these groups, as well as with his critics on the left and representatives of the Dalits. He also explores another key issue in Gandhi's life and legacy: his ideas about and attitudes toward women.
Despite inconsistencies and limitations, and failures in his personal life, Gandhi has become a beacon for posterity. The uncompromising honesty of his politics and moral activism has inspired such figures as Jayaprakash Narayan, Medha Patkar, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Petra Kelly and influenced a series of new social movements -- by environmentalists, antiwar campaigners, feminists, and human rights activists, among others -- dedicated to the principle of a more just world.
An American Life: The Autobiography [EPUB]
20 August 2014, 09:36
2011 | EPUB | 6.93MB
Ronald Reagan’s autobiography is a work of major historical importance. Here, in his own words, is the story of his life—public and private—told in a book both frank and compellingly readable.
Few presidents have accomplished more, or been so effective in changing the direction of government in ways that are both fundamental and lasting, than Ronald Reagan. Certainly no president has more dramatically raised the American spirit, or done so much to restore national strength and self-confidence.
Here, then, is a truly American success story—a great and inspiring one. From modest beginnings as the son of a shoe salesman in Tampico, Illinois, Ronald Reagan achieved first a distinguished career in Hollywood and then, as governor of California and as president of the most powerful nation in the world, a career of public service unique in our history.
Ronald Reagan’s account of that rise is told here with all the uncompromising candor, modesty, and wit that made him perhaps the most able communicator ever to occupy the White House, and also with the sense of drama of a gifted natural storyteller.
He tells us, with warmth and pride, of his early years and of the elements that made him, in later life, a leader of such stubborn integrity, courage, and clear-minded optimism. Reading the account of this childhood, we understand how his parents, struggling to make ends meet despite family problems and the rigors of the Depression, shaped his belief in the virtues of American life—the need to help others, the desire to get ahead and to get things done, the deep trust in the basic goodness, values, and sense of justice of the American people—virtues that few presidents have expressed more eloquently than Ronald Reagan.
With absolute authority and a keen eye for the details and the anecdotes that humanize history, Ronald Reagan takes the reader behind the scenes of his extraordinary career, from his first political experiences as president of the Screen Actors Guild (including his first meeting with a beautiful young actress who was later to become Nancy Reagan) to such high points of his presidency as the November 1985 Geneva meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev, during which Reagan invited the Soviet leader outside for a breath of fresh air and then took him off for a walk and a man-to-man chat, without aides, that set the course for arms reduction and charted the end of the Cold War.
Here he reveals what went on behind his decision to enter politics and run for the governorship of California, the speech nominating Barry Goldwater that first made Reagan a national political figure, his race for the presidency, his relations with the members of his own cabinet, and his frustrations with Congress.
He gives us the details of the great themes and dramatic crises of his eight years in office, from Lebanon to Grenada, from the struggle to achieve arms control to tax reform, from Iran-Contra to the visits abroad that did so much to reestablish the United States in the eyes of the world as a friendly and peaceful power. His narrative is full of insights, from the unseen dangers of Gorbachev’s first visit to the United States to Reagan’s own personal correspondence with major foreign leaders, as well as his innermost feelings about life in the White House, the assassination attempt, his family—and the enduring love between himself and Mrs. Reagan.
An American Life is a warm, richly detailed, and deeply human book, a brilliant self-portrait, a significant work of history.
My Father at 100 [Audiobook]
20 August 2014, 09:31
2011 | MP3@64 kbps | 7 hrs 32 mins | 207.75MB
A moving memoir of the beloved fortieth president of the United States, by his son.
February 6, 2011, is the one hundredth anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth. To mark the occasion, Ron Reagan has written My Father at 100, an intimate look at the life of his father -- one of the most popular presidents in American history -- told from the perspective of someone who knew Ronald Reagan better than any advisor, friend, or colleague. As he grew up under his father's watchful gaze, he observed the very qualities that made the future president a powerful leader. Yet for all of their shared experiences of horseback rides and touch football games, there was much that Ron never knew about his father's past, and in My Father at 100 he sets out to understand this beloved, if often enigmatic, figure who turned his early tribulations into a stunning political career.
Since his death in 2004, President Reagan has been a galvanizing force that personifies the values of an older America and represents an important era in national history. Ron Reagan traces the sources of these values in his father's early years and offers a heartfelt portrait of a man and his country -- and his personal memories of the president he knew as ''Dad.''
Plans are already underway to celebrate Ronald Reagan's centennial in 2011 across the country. America will stop to recall the beloved president, and this book is the perfect spark to kick off the festivities.

In Circle of Friends, award-winning journalist Charles Gasparino—one of Wall Street's most knowledgeable observers—follows government investigators and prosecutors as they pursue one of the most aggressive and broad-reaching series of insider-trading cases in the nation's history. A richly textured page-turner of investigative journalism based on extensive reporting, Circle of Friends chronicles the massive federal crackdown that has already put some of the biggest names on Wall Street behind bars, including Raj Rajaratnam, founder of the Galleon Group, and Rajat Gupta, a former CEO of consulting giant McKinsey & Co. Other similarly sized targets are still waiting nervously, including the biggest one of them all—financial impresario Steve Cohen of SAC Capital, the giant hedge fund that has confounded regulators for years by cranking out a steady stream of market-busting returns.
Gasparino goes behind the headlines to reveal how the government makes its case, using every tool at its disposal—and at great expense to taxpayers—to supposedly make the investing world safer for average Americans. Gasparino asks why federal officials are so eager to prosecute these cases: What is the real damage to individuals? Do average investors really care? He explores why insider trading is all the rage these days when the U.S. government has failed to bring a single criminal case against the culprits who caused the 2008 financial crisis.
Circle of Friends is not a defense of insider trading, but it does offer an account of the politics of Wall Street crime fighting, revealing the behind-the-scenes ambitions that motivate headlines and burnish political careers.
A riveting work of narrative nonfiction, as engrossing and explosive as fictional thrillers of the finest magnitude, Circle of Friends is a wakeup call to the investing public.

Looking toward the C-suite? Take heed. Author and serial CEO Dick Cross pulls back the curtain on this top leadership role, explaining in his new book that being a successful leader, running a business, and doing it extraordinarily well isn’t a full-time job. In 60-Minute CEO: Mastering Leadership an Hour at a Time, Cross makes the case that the single greatest determinant of business success revolves around the job at the top. Cross suggests that the most important, and often overlooked, duty for a CEO is thinking about how to improve his or her business and how to be a leader. Cross also reveals that a mediocre leader can be transformed into an exemplary one simply by refining two key things: thinking and character. In Cross's trademark conversational style, he conveys why strategy and execution, while important, should take a back seat to authenticity and responsibility, and that the essential elements of the CEO role can be accomplished in several 60-minute sessions every week. Executives may fill their time with other tasks, but leading and running a company requires explicit skills different from those needed for any other corporate position.
The good news is that those skills are easy to learn, fun to do, and not time-consuming. In an entertaining style, Cross offers executives the fast track to the top leadership position. And while 60 minutes may seem like a quick fix, as Cross sees it, three 60-minute sessions a week devoted solely to considering your business and your role as leader are crucial to business and leadership success.
In 60-Minute CEO, Dick Cross brings over 25 years of experience of transforming companies in various stages of underperformance into industry powerhouses. Cross combines his knowledge and experience with the stories and lessons of preeminent leaders and thinkers including General George Patton and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

The Truth about ESP [Audiobook]

If you think that extrasensory perception (ESP) is a power reserved for crystal-ball gazers, gypsies, believers in the occult, or something to watch on late-night television, this book will come as a big surprise. For ESP is a power latent in each one of us. Every single man, woman, and child has the ability to obtain information beyond the limitations of the time-space continuum. If we're not aware of this force, we're either ignoring it, suppressing it, or ascribing the phenomenon to other causes. In this book, Hans Holzer tells how to develop your ESP powers to time in on future events, send messages mind-to-mind across distances, even communicate with the next dimension.
Mr. Holzer, through twenty years of intensive research in the field, offers hundreds of case histories dealing with psychic phenomena, reported by housewives, teachers, clergymen, laborers, old people, and children. Mr. Holzer explores astral projection, precognition, clairvoyance, trance, and evaluates such psychic tools as Ouija boards and tarot cards. Test sheets for professional and layman alike are included to determine one's ESP potential.
ESP incidents can't simply be ignored, explains Mr. Holzer. They are numerous and well supported by evidence and reputable witnesses. Science can no longer treat parapsychology as a stepchild. ESP is not supernatural, but perfectly natural. Holzer endorses the increased development of this faculty through actual use and frequent testing.
Here are just a few of the questions answered in THE TRUTH ABOUT ESP...
- Why did the Soviet Union employ full-time staffs in eight major universities to study psychic phenomena?
- Why is the ESP faculty compared to radio waves - with man as a receiving instrument?
- Is ESP related to karmic law?
- How is ESP being used in crime detection?
- Do plants really respond to tender loving care in some sort of extrasensory way?
- How should one deal with a premonition or a feeling of deja vu?
- Are tea leaves a hoax?
- What's the difference between clairvoyance and telepathy?
